Heat Treatment Of 4130 Hollow Rod
1.Quenched+Tempered(+QT)
Quenching and tempering refers to the hardening (Quenching) of 4130 hollow rod materials at temperatures from 800 — 1,100 °C with a subsequent re-heating (Tempering) at temperatures from 540 — 680 °C. Hardening is a heat treatment process that comprises of austenitizing and rapid cooling. the 4130 chrome hollow rod is hard but also brittle. The subsequent high tempering temperature leads to an increased yield and tensile strength as well as to high elongation and toughness values.
2. Normallized (+N)
Normal annealing refers to the process of heating steel slightly above the austenite temperature. After having been thorough heated through, the material is cooled down in still air. All microstructure- and property changes on account of the quenching and tempering, hardening, overheating, welding, cold or hot formation are as such reversed; in as far as these have not led to any material damages. The aim is to obtain a uniform fine ferrite-pearlite microstructure with the associated mechanical properties.
3.Induction Hardened Q+T 4130 Hollow Chrome rod
Induction hardening is used to increase the mechanical properties of ferrous components in a specific area. Typical applications are powertrain, suspension, engine components and stampings. Induction hardening is excellent at repairing warranty claims / field failures. The primary benefits are improvements in strength, fatigue and wear resistance in a localised area without having to redesign the component.
