1.Brief Introduction to Induction Hardened Chrome Plated Rod

The induction hardened chrome plated rod have an additional advantage of improved resistance to handle damage from external impact.

Induction hardening of piston rods in hydraulic cylinders is performed in order to increase the resistance to damage from external impact in applications where there is risk for them. Examples are piston rods for hydraulic cylinders in excavators and loaders and for power-steering cylinders. An additional advantage afforded by induction hardening is improved resistance to inadvertent handling damage during cylinder manufacture.

2.Specifications of Induction Hardened Chrome Plated Rod

Induction hardening is a form of heat treatment in which a metal part is heated by induction heating and then quenched. The quenched metal undergoes a martensitic transformation, increasing the hardness and brittleness of the part. Induction hardening is used to selectively harden areas of a part or assembly without affecting the properties of the part as a whole. The hardening depth is 1.5-5mm; medium/low-frequency quenching may lead to excessive depth and negative effect on strength; high-frequency quenching generally result in a shallow depth, and may ensure the balance of hardness and strength.
