Hydraulic honed tubes are seamless, hot rolled and honed. They can be used for manufacturing any hydraulic cylinder.
Honing is finishing method whose goal is to ensure perfect surface grade, in our case final treatment of the inner diameter of the tube. Advantage of this classic procedure is high geometrical accuracy of the shape with minimal conicity and waviness of the surface. However, after the process, they will be a large number of spiral grooves from the grinding tool. These result in greater wear and lesser lifespan of the seals, compared to the roller burnished tubes. Final surface will have roughness Ra 0,4 μm.
Hydraulic Honed Tubes are made of ST52.0 (E355) material. ST52 Hydraulic Cylinder Tubes are preferred in various sizes and thickness by our clients all across the globe.
These tubes are cold drawn, skived and roller burnished. They can be used for manufacturing any hydraulic cylinder.
Skiving and roller burnishing is finishing method that does not remove the material in the form of chips, but rather transforms the surface layer. We will not achieve such accuracy in the geometry of the workpiece compared to honing, but it is more advantageous in terms of surface quality. Final surface will have no spiral grooves and roughness Ra 0,2um.
